3 steps to get started
- Set the earn rate and expiryIn the app's "Settings", choose the earn rate, rounding, days until granted and expiry, then save.
- Add blocks in the theme editorOpen the theme editor with "Open theme editor" on the dashboard, then select Add block and choose Apps. Add 「獲得予定ポイント」 (Points to earn) to the product page, 「ポイント利用(カート)」 (Point redemption, cart) to the cart page and 「保有ポイント」 (Point balance) to the account page, then save.
- Confirm earning with a test orderPlace a test order as a logged-in customer. After payment is complete, check that the points are recorded on the "Point History" screen.
Which blocks can I show?
| Block | Where it appears | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 「獲得予定ポイント」 (Points to earn) | Product page | An estimate of the points earned with the purchase. |
| 「ポイント利用(カート)」 (Point redemption, cart) | Cart page | The current point balance and a field for the number of points to use. Pressing 「ポイントを使用する」 (Use points) applies the discount. |
| 「保有ポイント」 (Point balance) | Account page | The current balance, points expiring within 30 days, the referral code and a field to register a birthday. |
| 「ポイント履歴」 (Point history) | Any page | Point earning and redemption history, 10 entries at a time. |
| 「ポイント交換アイテム」 (Reward items) | Any page | A list of items that can be exchanged for points. |
| 「ポイントランチャー」 (Point launcher) | All pages (app embed) | A 「ポイント」 (Points) button in the bottom right or bottom left of the screen. |
| 「ポイントブロック」 (Points block) | Profile page of new customer accounts | The point balance, points expiring within 30 days and the 5 most recent history entries. |
| 「友だち紹介ブロック」 (Referral block) | Profile page of new customer accounts | The customer's referral code and a field to enter a referral code. |
You can change each block's text and accent color in that block's settings in the theme editor. Blocks that show balances or history display their content only to logged-in customers.
What should I check before going live?
- The earn rate, rounding and days until granted are what you intended
- The expiry and bonus values, such as sign-up points, are what you intended
- Each block appears on your published theme
- A test order grants points
- Using points in the cart applies the discount
- The features you want to use are included in your current plan
Common stumbling points for new users
- Can I use it in a store that uses a currency other than yen?
- LoyaltyPoint is only for stores that use Japanese yen (JPY). Points are always calculated as 1 point = 1 yen, so stores in other currencies are not supported.
- I set up birthday points or referrals, but they don't work
- On the settings screen and the "Ranks & Campaigns" screen, you can enter and save every item on any plan. However, member ranks, campaigns, referrals, birthday points, customer tagging, email notifications and reward items only run on the Standard plan or higher, and per-product settings only run on the Premium plan or higher. Your saved settings are kept and take effect when you upgrade.
- Points stay "Pending" and are never confirmed
- "Days until granted" is counted from fulfillment, not from payment. Points for orders that have not been marked as fulfilled are not confirmed. If you don't ship anything, for example with digital products, set days until granted to 0.
- A test order doesn't grant points
- Guest checkout orders don't earn points. Place the order as a logged-in customer and complete the payment.
- I'm not sure what entering "0" means
- Setting the expiry days to 0 means points never expire. Setting the points granted for sign-up points or birthday points to 0 turns that feature off.
- The points to earn on the product page differ from the points actually granted
- The product page shows an estimate calculated only from the base earn rate and rounding. Member ranks, campaigns, per-product settings and the amount paid with points are reflected when points are granted for the order.
- Total members doesn't match the number of customers in Shopify
- The member count is the number of customers registered in the app through events such as an order, account sign-up, viewing their balance in the store or a manual point adjustment. It does not match the number of customers in Shopify.
