Earning settings

"Earn rate (%)"
The rate of points earned on the order amount. For example, at 1%, every 100 yen earns 1 point. It is calculated on each product's amount minus discounts and the amount paid with points.
"Rounding"
Choose from "Round down", "Round up" or "Round". For small orders where rounding results in 0 points, 1 point is still granted if the calculated points are greater than 0.
"Days until granted"
With 0, points are confirmed when payment is complete. With 1 or more, points are recorded as "Pending" when payment is complete and confirmed once that many days have passed after fulfillment. You can set 0 to 365 days. This is useful for stores with many returns.

Points are granted when an order's payment is complete. Guest checkout orders don't earn points.

Redemption settings

"Point value (1pt = X yen)"
Sets how many yen of discount 1 point is worth. The default is 1 yen.
"Redeem unit (pt)"
Points can only be used in multiples of this number.
"Minimum points per redemption"
The minimum number of points that can be used at one time.

Customers enter the number of points to use on the cart page and press 「ポイントを使用する」 (Use points). A single-use discount code for that customer is applied automatically and discounts in 1-yen steps, so Shopify Plus is not required. This discount can't be combined with other order discounts. Points are deducted from the balance when the order's payment is complete. If the discount isn't used within 24 hours, it is canceled automatically and no points are deducted.

Per-product restrictions

With "Per-product settings" on the "Ranks & Campaigns" screen, you can override the earn rate, exclude products from earning or restrict point redemption for specific products. Per-product settings run on the Premium plan or higher.

Expiry basis

BasisHow it works
"Per point"Each grant expires the set number of days after the date it was granted.
"Renew on last purchase"Each time an order's payment is complete, the expiry of all points held is extended to the set number of days from that day.

Setting the days to 0 means points never expire. Sign-up points, birthday points and CSV bulk grants don't extend the expiry. Expired points are removed automatically every day, and points closest to expiry are used first.

Sign-up, birthday and referral points

  • "Sign-up points": Granted automatically when a customer creates a new account. Available on all plans. Set the points granted to 0 to turn it off.
  • "Birthday points": Granted automatically once a year on the birthday the customer registered in the 「保有ポイント」 (Point balance) block on the account page. A birthday can be registered only once and can't be changed later. You also can't register or correct it on the customer's behalf from the admin. Runs on the Standard plan or higher.
  • "Referral program": When a referred customer completes payment on their first order, both the referrer and the referee earn points. The points are confirmed after the set number of days (default 7 days). A referral code can be entered only during the "Code entry window" (default 30 days) after the customer is registered in the app. Referral codes appear in the 「保有ポイント」 (Point balance) block and the referral block for new customer accounts, and you can check referral status on the "Referral Codes" screen. Runs on the Standard plan or higher.

Member ranks, campaigns and reward items

"Member ranks"
Register a rank name, cumulative spend (JPY) and multiplier. The earn rate multiplier changes based on cumulative spend. A rank-up applies from the order after the one that reached the rank. Ranks can be added and deleted, but not edited.
"Campaigns"
Register a campaign name, start and end dates, multiplier, fixed points and minimum order amount (JPY). A campaign is active as soon as you add it, and you manage it with "Deactivate", "Activate" and "Delete". When an order matches multiple campaigns, the multipliers are multiplied together and the fixed points are added up.
"Reward items"
Register an item name, description, points required and stock (leave empty for unlimited), and the 「ポイント交換アイテム」 (Reward items) block accepts exchanges. Points are deducted at the time of exchange, and the exchange appears as "Pending" under exchange requests. When you have handled it, press "Mark fulfilled".

Member ranks, campaigns and reward items run on the Standard plan or higher. "Deactivate" turns an item off while keeping its data. "Delete" can't be undone.

Helpful operations features

  • "Customer tagging": Automatically adds the tag you choose (default "loyaltypoint") to customers who have a point account. Tags aren't removed after a plan change. Runs on the Standard plan or higher.
  • "Email notifications": Sends customers notices about points earned and advance notices of points expiring within 7 days (every Monday). Sent on the Standard plan or higher, within each plan's monthly email limit. Emails include an unsubscribe link.
  • "Returning used points on cancellation": Choose how used points are returned when an order is canceled: "Re-grant" (new expiry) or "Restore" (original expiry; expired points aren't returned).
  • "Manual point adjustment": Under "Manual point adjustment" on the "Point History" screen, enter the customer ID (Shopify) or email address, the points (a negative number subtracts) and a reason, then press "Apply adjustment". You can adjust points for customers who haven't ordered yet and aren't registered in the app, as long as they exist in Shopify. Click the customer in the point history (their name, or their email address or customer ID if there is no name) to open the customer details screen. There you can see their name, email address, balance, rank and history, and adjust points by entering just the points and a reason. You can't subtract more than the balance.
  • "Bulk Points": On the "Bulk Points" screen, paste a CSV in the customer_id,points,expire_days,remarks format to grant points in bulk. The limit is 1,000 rows per run, and you can also download a template. This is also useful for migrating from another app.
  • "Export": On the "Export" screen, you can download a CSV of customers and balances and a CSV of point history for a date range you choose. Dates and times are recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), so add 9 hours to convert them to Japan time (JST).

FAQ

When are points granted?

Points are granted when an order's payment is complete. If days until granted is set to 1 or more, the points are recorded as "Pending" and confirmed once that many days have passed after fulfillment.

What happens with returns and cancellations?

Points equal to the refunded amount are subtracted automatically. The balance never goes below zero. On cancellation, used points are returned by re-granting or restoring them, depending on your settings.

The rank went up, but the multiplier didn't change

A rank-up applies from the order after the one that reached the rank.
