What can I register in a profile?
Click "Supervisors & Authors" in the left menu to open the "Manage Supervisors & Authors" screen. Click "Add new" to open the registration screen. To change a registered person, click "Edit" in the list.
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Type | Choose supervisor or author. It can't be changed after registration. |
| Name | Required. Enter the name to show on articles. |
| Title / qualification | Enter a job title, qualification, area of expertise, and so on (for example, Registered Dietitian). |
| Credentials | Enter up to 20, separated by commas. They appear on the card and are also used in structured data. |
| Profile / experience | Briefly describe the person's background and expertise. Line breaks are shown as entered. |
| Image (photo) | You can set it in 3 ways: upload with "Select image" (drag & drop also works), pick from your Shopify files with "Choose from Files", or enter an image URL directly. If no image is set, the first letter of the name is shown. |
| Profile page URL | Set the URL of a page with a more detailed profile. |
| Social links | The input fields appear only on the Pro plan. Click "Add link" to add up to 10 links. Supported: X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, LINE, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, note, Threads, Website, and Blog. URLs must start with http or https. |
| Accent color (optional) | Available on the Pro plan. Turn on "Set a custom color for this person" and choose a color to override the theme editor color only on this person's articles. |
The number of people you can publish is 1 on the Free plan, 5 on the Standard plan, and unlimited on the Pro plan. In the list, you can search by name or title and filter by type. Each person shows one of these statuses: "Published", "Unpublished (plan limit)", or "Disabled".
When you save a profile, the change is automatically reflected on the articles it is assigned to.
Can I change the type?
The supervisor or author type can't be changed after the profile is created. If you chose the wrong type, check which articles the profile is assigned to, then create a profile with the correct type.
Register 2 profiles for the same person: one as supervisor and one as author.
How do I temporarily hide a person from articles?
On the person's edit screen, under "Display on articles", click "Hide from articles". The person will no longer appear on articles or in structured data. You don't need to save; the change applies right away. Their data is kept, and you can click "Show again" to restore them. Hidden people show as "Disabled" in the list.
What does "Unpublished (plan limit)" mean?
Visible people are ordered by registration date (earliest first), and people up to your plan's limit are "Published". People over the limit become "Unpublished (plan limit)" and are removed from article display and structured data. Their data is not deleted.
When you have reached the limit, you can't add new people, and an error message with a "View plans" button appears. Hide people you don't need with "Hide from articles", or upgrade to a higher plan.
What happens when I delete a profile?
When you click "Delete" in the top right of the person's edit screen and confirm, their assignments to articles are also removed, and they disappear from the articles in your store. Check which articles they are assigned to before deleting. If you only want to stop showing them for a while, use "Hide from articles" instead of deleting.
