How to add the review list block

  1. Open the theme editorIn the left menu of your Shopify admin, click "Online Store" to open the Themes page. Click "Edit theme" (shown as "Customize" on some screens) on your current theme to open the theme editor. While the page is loading, the menu name may appear in English as "Online Store".
  2. Open the product page templateUse the page selector at the top of the screen to choose your product page template.
  3. Add the app blockWhere you want reviews to appear, click "Add block" or "Add section", then choose "Reviews" under "Apps".
  4. Save and check your storeClick "Save" and confirm that the review list appears on the product page in your store.

The review list block also includes the review form. When the block setting "Show review form" is on (the default), customers can post reviews from the product page with "Write a review". When it is off, the block only shows reviews.

What the review list block shows

  • Average rating and number of reviews
  • Distribution of ratings from 1★ to 5★
  • Sorting ("Newest", "Highest rated", "Lowest rated")
  • Pagination
  • A "Verified buyer" badge on reviews from customers who bought the product
  • Replies from your store
  • A form for customers to post reviews (when "Show review form" is on)

Only published reviews appear in your store. Pending and rejected reviews are not shown.

How do I add the rating badge?

The rating badge is a block that shows a product's average rating and number of reviews. Follow the same steps as for the review list: in the theme editor, choose "Rating badge" under "Apps", add it anywhere you like (for example, near the product title), and save. You can change the font size in the block settings.

The rating badge only appears for products that have at least one published review. The average rating and count come from the product metafields reviewbridge.rating and reviewbridge.rating_count, which ReviewBridge writes. These metafields update when a review is published, and when you approve, reject or delete a review. If the badge doesn't match your actual reviews, click 「評価メタフィールドを再同期」 (Resync rating metafields) on the "Reviews" screen.

What to check

Products with no published reviews yet don't show any reviews. Check on the "Reviews" screen that the reviews have been approved. Also, if your number of products with reviews has reached your plan's limit, new reviews are not accepted for products that have no reviews yet. Check your number of products with reviews on the "Plans & usage" screen.

Can I place the rating badge on pages other than product pages?

You can add it anywhere the theme editor lets you add it. Because it shows a product's rating, use it on pages that include product information.

Does adding the review list block also let customers post reviews?

Yes. The review list block includes the review form. You can choose who can post in "Review settings". If you turn off the block setting "Show review form", the review form is not shown.
