How do I reflect new articles?

  1. Open the assignment screenSelect the blog that the new article belongs to.
  2. Run a re-syncTo update only the selected blog, use "Re-sync blog". To update every blog that has people assigned, all at once, use "Re-sync all blogs".
  3. Check the published articleReload the article and check that the profile appears.
Don't run the bulk setting again

Running a bulk setting again deletes the per-article settings within its scope. Re-sync doesn't change your assignments; it only applies the display information to new articles.

What if the profile doesn't appear?

  • A person is set for the article, either per article or as the default
  • The person's status is "Published" (not "Disabled" or "Unpublished (plan limit)")
  • The blog post template has the Author Profile app block
  • The article uses the default article template, or, if it uses another template, that template also has the block
  • For new articles, you have run a re-sync
  • You have hard-refreshed the published article (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Command+Shift+R on Mac)

If the block doesn't appear, or after reinstalling, click the app name (Author Profile) in the left menu to open the home page, then click "Run setup" in the "Initial setup" section (optional) at the bottom of the screen. It's safe to run as many times as you like.

What if colors or social links aren't applied?

Colors or layout aren't applied
Design settings are applied on the Standard plan or higher. On the Free plan, the default design is used. If settings aren't applied on a paid plan, if the block doesn't appear, or after reinstalling, click the app name (Author Profile) in the left menu to open the home page, then click "Run setup" in the "Initial setup" section (optional) at the bottom of the screen. It's safe to run as many times as you like. Then reload the published article.
Social links or the accent color don't appear
Social links and a custom accent color per person are available only on the Pro plan. On the Free and Standard plans, the social link input fields aren't shown at all. Also check that the profile has social links entered and that "Show social links" is turned on in the app block.

If your plan and settings are fine, save the profile and theme settings, hard-refresh the published article, and check it in another browser too.

How do I check structured data?

Structured data is information embedded in the page to tell search engines who wrote and who reviewed the article. It isn't shown on the screen. Structured data (author, reviewedBy) is output automatically on every plan. Only the supervisor and author shown on the article are output. A person's social links are included in structured data only on the Pro plan. If nothing is output, check that the person is "Published" and that a person is assigned to the article.

First, check that the profile appears on the published page. Then enter the article's URL in Google's Rich Results Test to check it. If there are errors, contact us with the URL and the details shown.
